PRESS RELEASE

GARRAS 2026

TRANSPOWER IN THE FLESH!

GET REVEALING. GET HONEST. GET FASHIONABLY NAKED.

Los Angeles, CA – October, 2026 – The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC), the largest trans-led organization in the United States founded by Latina immigrants, will host its 12th Annual GARRAS (Groundbreaking Activism Redirecting & Reforming All Systems) Fashion Show on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 8:00 PM at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

This year’s theme, TRANSPOWER IN THE FLESH, delivers an honest and revealing message, with a bold meaning: this is how we look when we are comfortable in our own skin and have nothing to hide. It is also on the flesh and bodies where the two-spirit, transgender, gender expansive, and intersex community (2TGI) feel the impact of the latest political and social challenges affecting our communities nowadays.

“Our own bodies are our strongest and loudest fashion and artistic statements. Our skin is our real fabric, and our flesh is our true story,” says Bamby Salcedo, TLC President & CEO, about this year’s theme.

GARRAS is more than a fashion show—it is a cultural movement celebrating the talent, resilience, and creativity of 2TGI individuals. Each year, the event brings together more than a thousand guests, volunteers, and participants, presents several scholarships to our talented students, and raises funds for TLC’s critical programs, including housing services, drop-in centers, and violence prevention initiatives.

“Come and see what it means to walk in our shoes and feel it in our flesh —with nothing to hide… or barely anything!” adds María Roman, TLC Vice President & Chief of Staff, “because to be fashionable, all you need is just a great imagination, as our incredible designers demonstrate they have.”

2026 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Spotlighting 2TGI Designers: This year designers include Life on Mars (by multidisciplinary artist Mars Wright, featured by the Los Angeles Times, Business Insider, BuzzFeed, Out Magazine/Out100, and others), Jesse Alvarado (top designer for the most of renowned international Latin celebrities), Gloria Sanchez, Josie Zocar, LEANDRAG, Cecilia Martínez, and BornXNaked.

  • Scholarships for the Future: TLC will award (2) two $5,000 vocational scholarships to 2TGI individuals to support their academic and professional development.

  • Community Celebration: In a vibrant soirée, GARRAS brings together allies, advocates, and supporters to celebrate and uplift 2TGI voices, creativity, and meaningful contributions to the community.

This year, GARRAS is partnering with Revry TV, and the entire event will be filmed into a one-hour special for the global streaming network and live television channel dedicated to LGBTQ+ original content, reaching viewers worldwide.

Last year’s show was a record-breaking success, drawing more than 800 attendees and raising nearly $200,000.00 in donations.
