Why GARRAS Matters More Than Ever in 2026

Every year, GARRAS reminds us that our community is more than the challenges we face. We are artists. We are designers. We are leaders. We are visionaries. We are beautiful. We are resilient.

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, The TransLatin@ Coalition will once again bring our community together for GARRAS, our annual fashion show and fundraiser celebrating the creativity, brilliance, and power of Two-Spirit, transgender, gender expansive, and intersex (2TGI) people.

GARRAS has never been just a fashion show.

It is a celebration of our existence.

For more than a decade, GARRAS has created a space where 2TGI designers, models, performers, artists, and community members can take center stage and be celebrated on their own terms. At a time when so many conversations about our community are rooted in misinformation, discrimination, or loss, GARRAS offers something equally important: joy.

That joy is an act of resistance.

Each year, GARRAS takes place during Transgender Awareness Month as a powerful reminder that while we honor those we have lost during Transgender Day of Remembrance, we must also celebrate those who are here today. Our stories deserve to be seen. Our creativity deserves to be recognized. Our lives deserve to be celebrated.

This year's event comes at a moment when visibility matters more than ever. Across the country, 2TGI communities continue to face attacks on our rights, our healthcare, and our ability to simply live authentically. In the face of these challenges, gathering together in celebration becomes a powerful statement that our communities are not only surviving, but thriving.

When you attend GARRAS, you become part of that statement.

Your ticket does more than reserve a seat at one of Southern California's premier fashion events. It helps The TransLatin@ Coalition continue providing life-changing programs and services, including housing support, violence prevention initiatives, workforce development, wellness programs, advocacy, and educational opportunities that strengthen 2TGI communities throughout Los Angeles and beyond.

GARRAS Scholarship 2025 recipient, Tatiana, walks the runway at GARRAS 2025.

You'll also help support the next generation of leaders through the GARRAS Scholarship, which invests in the educational and vocational goals of 2TGI individuals pursuing brighter futures.

This year, you'll experience an unforgettable evening featuring visionary designers, inspiring honorees, extraordinary performances, and a community united by the belief that fashion can be a vehicle for liberation, storytelling, and transformation.

Whether you're attending GARRAS for the first time or returning as part of our growing family, we invite you to stand with us in celebrating authenticity, resilience, and community.

Because when our community shines, we all move forward together.

Join us on November 7, 2026, and experience why GARRAS is more than a runway.

It's a movement.
